Being young professionals, the leaders of Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers-Mechanical Design and Fabrication Technical Division (PSME-MDFTD) recognized a common challenge experienced not only by students entering the engineering industry, but also by Mechanical Engineers who aim to explore, transition into, or further develop their knowledge in the design field.
The Missing Link Program was created to help bridge the connection between academic learning, industry practices, and the continuously evolving landscape of modern engineering. While universities and institutions provide strong theoretical foundations, advancements in technology, digital tools, and AI continue to rapidly influence how engineering is applied in real-world industries.
Through this initiative, PSME-MDFTD hopes to provide accessible learning opportunities, practical insights, and industry-based discussions that may help aspiring and practicing engineers better understand real design applications, professional workflows, innovation practices, and current engineering trends. The program also aims to encourage continuous learning and professional growth within the design engineering community.
A portion of the proceeds will be allocated for the fabrication and development of a machine prototype in 2027, which will benefit munggo farmers in Bulacan.
